Cookie policy

This page lists every cookie Keyplar sets across keyplar.com, the documentation site, and the product itself. Your choice is stored once and applies to all three.

1. Strictly necessary

These are set regardless of your choice, because the service cannot work without them. They carry no advertising identifiers.

  • Session cookies — keep you signed in to the product. Expire when the session ends or is revoked.
  • Order access cookie — a short-lived, HttpOnly cookie that lets a buyer reach their order immediately after checkout.
  • kp_consent — records the choice you make below so we do not ask again. Set on .keyplar.com so one answer covers all three sites. Expires after 180 days.

2. Analytics

Set only if you accept. We use them to see which pages and features get used, so we know what to improve. They are not used for advertising and the data is never sold.

  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another and groups their page views into a visit. Expires after up to 2 years.
  • ph_* — our product analytics tool. Records which features an account actually uses, so we can tell what is working. Expires after up to 1 year.

Session recording. Inside the signed-in dashboard, and only if you accept analytics, we record a sample of sessions — roughly one in four — so we can see where the interface gets in the way. All text and images are masked before the recording leaves your browser: we see the shape of the page and where you clicked, not licence keys, email addresses, or order details. Storefronts and customer portals are never recorded.

3. Marketing

We do not currently run advertising and set no marketing cookies. The category exists in the banner so that if we ever do, it stays off unless you turn it on.

4. Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and it takes effect immediately:

Clearing your browser cookies also clears the record of your choice, and we will ask again on your next visit. Most browsers can block cookies entirely; the sites keep working if you do.
