about keyplar
Payments got world-class. Delivery didn't.
Stripe made taking money on the internet almost effortless. But the moment after payment — issuing the key, serving the file, granting the access, answering “where's my stuff?” — was left as an exercise for every seller. Keyplar exists to close that gap.
the gap
Why we built this
Every developer who sells software directly ends up building the same things: a license key generator, a downloads bucket with signed URLs, a webhook handler for refunds, a page where customers can find what they bought. None of it is the product they set out to build — and all of it breaks in the same ways.
Platforms that do handle delivery typically want to become your merchant of record and take a percentage of every sale for it. That trade makes sense for some sellers. But if you're happy with your own Stripe account — its rates, its payouts, its control — you shouldn't have to give up either the percentage or the delivery features.
Keyplar is the unbundling: the delivery layer as its own product, gateway-agnostic, flat-priced, and built with the same care as the payments infrastructure it sits behind.
Six things we hold to. They decide what we build, what we refuse to build, and how we price it.
01
Your checkout is yours
We will never sit between you and your money. Keyplar works with your own Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, or Polar account — your rates, your payouts, your statement descriptor. We complement payment providers; we don't replace them.
02
Your customers are yours
The people who buy from you are your customers, not ours. Their orders live in your store, under your brand, and you can export everything at any time. Buyers can export or erase their own data too — privacy isn't a feature tier.
03
Flat pricing, forever
Delivery is the product, so we don't meter it. Orders, license validations, customers, connected gateways — unlimited on every plan. A percentage of your revenue is not a fair price for serving a file.
04
Delivery is infrastructure
Signed URLs, verified webhooks, idempotent imports, hashed API keys, refund-aware revocation. The boring parts are the product — they're what separate a checkout that delivers from one that leaks.
05
No lock-in by design
Keyplar imports your history when you arrive and exports your data if you leave. Gateway-issued license keys are preserved, not rewritten. Tools should earn their keep monthly, not hold your past hostage.
06
Honest by default
Our comparison pages say what competitors do well. Our pricing page says what's limited. If Keyplar isn't the right tool for your setup, we'd rather you find out on this website than after signing up.
